About the Logo

COMPANY

ALUMNM is a manufacturing company that specializes in producing drinkware items that are made out of aluminum. Ranging from water bottles to soda cans, to thermoses, the products all start out as a form of pure aluminum. The machines in the ALUMNM factories then convert the pure aluminum into any one of these products.

TARGET AUDIENCE

Teenagers to young adults (approximately ages 13-35). Soda is popular among teenagers and re-usable water bottles now-a-days have become increasingly popular among high school and college students. They are both convenient and environmentally friendly. Also, with more and more people becoming active, the demand for re-useable water bottles is increasing.

DESIGN

I named the company "ALUMNM" to give it a modern feel with the aim to attract a younger audience. The triangle design is comprised of thin, lightweight lines and the shape of the triangle mimics a capital “A” to represent ALUMNM. Aluminum is a lightweight metal, so I wanted the typeface to reflect these qualities. The Trajan typeface has sleek and modern characteristics while still having an industrial flare.

C O L O R P A L E T T E

Drawing reference from its name, I wanted the colors in this design to give off a metallic, aluminum effect. I rearranged the different ombres of light to dark grey to give it a shiny effect.

T Y P O G R A P H Y

The typeface used in this logotype is Trajan Color. Every part of this typeface is editable, as seen in the top “ALUMNM” on the right. I was able to adjust every color in each of the individual sections. Seen in the bottom right “ALUMNM”, I applied the metallic color palette to the front/left side of the letters and kept the back side black to reference a shadow, giving the word a 3D effect.
